Original Receipt from Peak District Online Nadger’s Pie 25g (1/2oz) beef dripping 25g (1/2oz) onion, diced 1 teaspoon plain flour 225g (8oz) game meat well chopped or minced 1 tomato, chopped stock, pepper and salt mashed potatoes Melt the fat and fry the diced onion. Blend in the flour. Add the chopped meat and tomato, enough stock to moisten and salt and pepper to taste. Stir over a low heat to blend well. Put into a well greased ovenproof dish. Cover with mashed potatoes, well creamed with milk or butter, and brown in a moderate over for 30 minutes. |
