 Said to have been served at the Crown Inn at Sarre to accompany the cherry brandy they were famous for. Known from ‘The old inns of Kent‘ (1925) by DC Maynard and said in ‘Punch’ of 1881 to be “much patronised by the local superior clergy”.  |
