[email protected] 6 oz flour 1 tsp baking powder 4 oz shredded suet 1 egg, beaten salt milk lard for frying Mix the flour, salt and baking powder. Rub in the suet. Knead in the egg and sufficient milk to get a firm dough. Roll out 3/4ins thick and cut into 2 ins rounds. Fry in a little melted lard until golden brown on both sides. Serve with warmed syrup or jam. |
