Original Receipt from 'Saleable Shop Goods for Counter-Tray and Window:' by Frederick T Vine (Vine 1907) No. 58.- Norwich Cakes. 2 lbs. flour. 3/4 lb. sugar. 1/2 lb. butter. 1/2 lb. currants. 1 oz. cream of tartar. 1/2 oz. carbonate of soda. 4 eggs. Milk. Mode. - Sift the cream and soda into the flour upon the board; cream up the butter and sugar, adding in the eggs; then mix in flour and currants with milk, and fill into square greased pans, about 3 ozs. for each cake, and bake in a moderate oven. 1d. each. |
