Uncle Joe's Mint Balls

Sweets and Toffee
Wigan

Proprietary dark, spherical, hard crack sugar sweets flavoured with mint. Made since 1898 By William Santus's Toffee Works of Wigan, who assert that from the time of Pliny and even "into the middle ages people believed that mint could grant wishes if the correct chant was uttered." The correct chant is;

Uncle Joe's Mint Balls keep you all aglow,
Give 'em to your grannie and watch the beggar go,
Away with coughs and sniffles, take a few in hand,
Suck 'em and see, you'll agree,
They're the best in all the land.
