 The 'sulphur shelf', Laetiporus sulphureus, a distinctive yellowish bracket fungus found on the stems of rotting trees. It has a texture extraordinarily similar to chicken. Pleasantly flavoured when ripe, it is inedibly tough when older. One of the very few wild mushrooms traditionally eaten in England.
