A pudding that, after baking, separates into a flavoured sponge with a custard-type sauce around. Chocolate Puddle is a particular favourite. The origin is unknown, but appears to be modern. [email protected] Hot Chocolate Puddle Pudding This pudding separates into a lovely crunchy topped pudding with a chocolate custard underneath. Ingredients 4 oz Self raising Flour 8 oz Brown Sugar 3 oz cocoa 1/4 pint milk 1 teaspoon vanilla essence 1 oz melted butter 3/4 pint hot water Combine flour with 4 oz sugar, 2 oz cocoa, milk, essence and butter. Pour into a greased 2 1/2 pt heat proof dish. Mix together remaining sugar and 1 oz cocoa, sprinkle on top of mixture, then carefully pour water over. Bake at 180C for 50 minutes. |
